Terms and Conditions

Welcome


Please take the time to read thoroughly as it explains the terms and conditions.



Membership includes roadside assistance. If the vehicle cannot be repaired within a reasonable time then you will be offered either a recovery to a single destination within the U.K. or recovery to a nearby garage. Cover can also include Home Call Out



Your cover


Your period of cover as stated in your membership schedule.

 

Two levels of Cover

 

1/ Annual Membership £34.50 tow to local garage excluding home call out

 

2/ Annual Membership £47.50 maximum recovery 50 miles including home call out


The vehicle is covered for emergency attendance, roadside labour costs, and recovery to any single U.K. destination

Any caravan or trailer attached to the vehicle at the time of the breakdown up to a maximum 7.6 metres in length.
We reserve the write to cancel the membership at any time, by giving you 14 days notice in writing to your last known address, and a pro rata refund will be made.
You can cancel the membership at any time. No refund of membership after 1 month


United Kingdom
If the vehicle registered is immobilised in the U.K. then you are covered for the following:-
Call out and roadside assistance by one of our approved recovery operators to attend the scene of the breakdown and where possible carry out emergency repairs
If repairs are unable to be successfully carried out, we will pay the cost of recovery of the vehicle and up to 4 passengers, to a single destination within the territorial limits as determined in your selected level of cover.


Change of Vehicle
You are only covered for the vehicle registered at the start of your membership, unless you have notified us in writing of a change of vehicle prior to a breakdown.
Change of address
Home assistance (excludes motor cycles) is only covered for the address registered at the start of your membership. Please notify us in writing of any change of address.
What is covered
Domestic Cars and motor cycles
Cover for any driver of the registered vehicle providing member has given permission.
Caravans or trailers up to 7.6 metres
Up to a maximum 4 callouts a year
Wheel changes (providing you have a serviceable spare tyre and wheel and a manufacturers key to remove locking wheel nuts).


What is not covered


Keys locked in vehicle
Running out fuel, loss of keys, broken glass
Vehicles immersed in mud, snow sand, or water
Any claim arising in first 48 hours of start of membership
Cost of any replacement parts or fuel
A second use of our services if no remedial action has been taken
Toll charges, parking charges, congestion charges, ferry charges
Storage charges incurred during or after breakdowns


Membership does not include vehicles temporarily immobilised due to floods, snow effected roads, sand or mud or situated in areas which we or our agents have no right of access, or on a motor traders premises.

 

Membership does not cover claims arising from the loss or damage to the contents of the vehicle


Membership does not cover consequential loss of any kind arising from the provision of, or delay in providing the services to you, unless negligence on our part can be demonstrated.


Membership does not cover assistance following a breakdown or accident attended by the police or other emergency services until they have authorised the vehicle removal.

 

Membership does not cover the cost of draining or removing contaminated fuel or other fluids


Membership does not cover any costs incurred as a result of you not carrying a serviceable spare tyre or wheel for your vehicle, caravan or trailer.


Membership does not cover any costs for locksmiths, glass replacement or tyre specialists.

 

You must make all ordinary and reasonable precautions to prevent or minimise any loss, damage or breakdown and to expedite the completion of repairs.

 

Membership does not cover any extra costs involved in the transportation of pets nor can we accept responsibility for the transportations of pets, animals or livestock carried by the member’s vehicle, we offer you the option of resolving this by way of arbitration

 

A call out charge will be imposed if we are called out for the same fault within 90 days

 

You must not abandon your vehicle or any of its parts without our authorisation

 

Lapsed Memberships

 

We do not accept any responsibility for any breakdown or recovery situation where a member has allowed cover to lapse. In the case of lapsed memberships we will arrange for attendance of the breakdown services, but the member is responsible for the total cost of the services provided with cost of the services being made at time of breakdown. The Control Centre will also levy a £20.00 service fee.

 

Change of Vehicle

If a member requests a change of vehicle amendment a membership service fee of £7.50 will be charged. If a member fails to advise a change of vehicle, cover for that vehicle will be inoperative.

 

Unauthorised Call Outs

 

Should you breakdown and arrange for a garage to attend the situation yourself for whatever reason you will be responsible for all associated breakdown costs with no reimbursement.

The vehicle owned by you and declared to us, to include any trailer or caravan attached
to the vehicle at the time of the breakdown
Territorial limits
The United Kingdom including Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands

Breakdown


Breakdown means an electrical or mechanical failure or a road traffic accident or damage caused by vandalism, fire, theft, or attempted theft which renders the vehicle immobilised.


Terms and Conditions
You or the driver must abide by the terms and conditions of membership
The vehicle must be maintained and kept in a roadworthy condition in accordance with legal requirements.
Motor Breakdown covers the vehicle registered for any driver of
Cars, and motorcycles up to 5.5 metres (18ft) in length, 2.3 metres (7ft 6 in) wide.


Important notes
We will always decide on the best possible way of offering assistance after taking into account your individual circumstances
We do not accept any responsibility for the transportation of domestic animals or livestock within the vehicle at the time of the breakdown.


A garage or mechanic carrying out repairs on your instruction will be acting as
your agent for such repairs.

General exclusions


You are not covered for the following:-


Vehicles that have not been regularly serviced or breakdown as a result of
Inadequate repair/unsuccessful DIY, non-compliance of manufacturers recommendations or any recurring fault where no remedial action has been taken to correct the fault.


Vehicles being used or that have been modified for motor racing, rallies, speed or endurance tests, hire or reward.


Any liability or consequential loss arising from act performed in the execution of the breakdown services provided.


Vehicles not in a roadworthy condition immediately prior to any breakdown.

Vehicles immersed in mud, snow, sand, or water.
Any claim recoverable from any insurance policy.
Any fines or penalties imposed by courts.
Any charges incurred prior to notification of breakdown.
The cost of any parts, components, lubricants or materials, food, drinks, telephone calls, petrol or oil, or other incidental expenses.
Any claim where we have not been previously notified in writing of a change of vehicle.
Any charges incurred resulting from your breakdown in a location that rescuing the vehicle would be unlawful.
Any cost of any specialist recovery equipment needed.
Breakdowns where your vehicle is not accessible or cannot be transported safely, legally and without hindrance using a standard transporter or trailer.
Any toll charges, ferry charges parking charges or traffic congestion charges.
Any costs recoverable elsewhere.
Breakdowns caused by your vehicle running out of fuel or where the vehicle does not have a serviceable spare tyre and wheel.
Claims directly or indirectly caused by or contributed to or arising from ionising radiations or contamination by radioactivity from any nuclear fuel or from any nuclear waste from the burning of nuclear fuel. Or the radioactive, toxic, explosive or other hazardous properties of any nuclear assembly or nuclear part of it. War, invasion, terrorism, foreign enemy hostilities (whether war is declared or not), civil war, rebellion, revolution, military force or coup, or pressure waves caused by aircraft or any other airborne devices travelling at sonic or supersonic speeds.


Data Protection
The data supplied by you will be used for processing your membership, including underwriting administration, and handling any claim which may arise. Sensitive date such as credit card information is shredded immediately after application completed.

 

It is important that the data supplied to us is kept up to date, please notify us promptly of any changes.


You are entitled upon payment of an administration fee to inspect the personal data which we are holding about you if you wish to make an inspection please contact us at the above address.


We may respond to enquires by the police concerning your membership in the normal course of their investigations. Where it is necessary to administer your membership effectively, or to protect your interests, we may disclose the data you have supplied to other third parties such as motor garages engineers, repairers, etc.
